Technology has moved ahead with giant steps in a very short lapse of time, still this very simple component is required as well as a 32 bit risc machine......

Yes! Read the datasheets, and understand the differences between 1N4001 and 32 bit microcontroller,
it's the first step to understand the Electronics

You are welcome!

1N4001 it's a Rectifier

Use this circuit to operate a small motor used for opening and closing a pair of curtains. As an
advantage over automatic closing and opening systems, you have control of how much, or how
little light to let into a room. For a 12V motor drawing 1amp under load, use 1N4001 diodes.

This unique DIY circuit charges the flashlight by shaking the device. After a few minutes of shaking, the capacitor gets fully charged. It might be okay for finding your keys in the dark but not much more.

The circuit in the link provides a 1-sec reset, using multiple AND gates for increased fanout. Intended for breadboarding or prototyping, the circuit generates a "snappy" master reset that remains active long enough to eliminate questionable start-ups.

This is a very simple circuit, using parts from the junk box and experimenting with different variations. The 1N4001 diode has been added to the output to isolate the switching function from the large value smoothing capacitor.

This variable power supply uses the 1N4001 diode, among many other basic components. The voltage range can be varied in the range 0-28 Volts.Current is at 20A.

There is a huge market for semiconductors but it take a few billion dollars at the least to start a semiconductor manufacturing unit and that is why there is great market for Obsolete Semiconductors too
