The MC13224V is Freescale's third-generation ZigBee platform which incorporate a complete, low power, 2.4 GHz radio frequency transceiver, 32-bit ARM7 core based MCU, hardware acceleration for both the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC and AES security, and a full set of MCU peripherals into a 99-pin LGA Platform-in-Package (PiP). The MC13224V solution can be used for wireless applications ranging from simple proprietary point-to-point connectivity to complete ZigBee mesh networking. The MC13224V is designed to provide a highly integrated, total solution, with premier processing capabilities and very low power consumption. The MC13224V MCU resources offer superior processing power for ZigBee applications. A full 32-bit ARM7TDMI-S core operates up to 26 MHz. A 128 Kbyte FLASH memory is mirrored into a 96 Kbyte RAM for upper stack and applications software. In addition, an 80 Kbyte ROM is available for boot software, standardized IEEE 802.15.4 MAC and

The attached file includes two projects in the same folder.
Project 1: An IAR project that will bring up FreeRTOS and SMAC on a Freescale DSK 1322x-SRB. You will see two blinking LEDs: one for task1 and one for task2. Task2 blinks at half the rate of task1.
Project 2: An Eclipse/GNU project that mostly builds the same thing as project #1. This project is about 95% of the way to making this happen.

The Freescale MC13224V advanced ZigBeeâ„¢ compliant Platform-in-Package for the 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 standard incorporates a complete, low power 2.4 GHz radio frequency (RF) transceiver, 32-bit ARM7â„¢ core based MCU, hardware acceleration for both the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC and AES security, and a full set of MCU peripherals. The 99-pin Freescale third-generation ZigBee platform lowers power consumption up to 50% from previous generations and can be used for wireless applications ranging from simple point-to-point connectivity to complete ZigBee mesh networking. The Freescale MC13224V Platform-in-Package includes a 128 KB Flash memory mirrored into a 96 KB RAM for upper stack and applications software.
