General description
The EvalST7538-2 board will help you in evaluating the ST7538 in TQFP44 package. The ST7538 IC is directly soldered to the PCB for better heat dissipation and contact. This board implements a typical power line communication node, including the power line coupling circuits, the power supply section, a microcontroller and a RS232 serial interface to connect the board to a personal computer. This board, with the related firmware load in the ST microprocessor and the delivered PC software, realizes a complete reference about the main aspects of the power line communications. The board structures realized with several of jumpers, test points and few SMD components is conceived to allow easy measure and signal verification, as well as a fast customization according to the specific requirements. The coupling interface circuit is designed for 132,5kHz channel communication in CENELEC band C, but filter components can be easily changed to be suitable for communication in CENELEC band A.
