Description
The VT5366 Reference Design Kit (RDK) demonstrates the VT5366 sensor as a complete solid state tracking engine with no moving parts in a 2.4GHz mouse. The sensor has been designed to provide long battery life whilst enabling excellent navigation control and precision on a wide range of surfaces. The VT5366 supports 2, 3 or 5 button mouse designs with a mechanical scroll wheel encoder. A single 6MHz resonator provides all the clock requirements and minimal external circuitry is required. Housed in the smallest package (7mm x 7mm) currently available, the chip is suitable for use in small form-factor mice demanded by laptop users. The RDK uses a specifically designed optical system with integrated light guide and lens. This has been optimized for low cost, space saving and ease of mouse manufacture. The RDK includes the wireless mouse, receiver, additional sensors, optics and LEDs. The datasheet and user manual are available at http://www.st.com.
